Smith County Schools Career Day for all students in grades 7-12 will be held Friday, September 28th from 8:30am-1:45pm at the Smith County Ag Center.  All students in grades 7-12 who have an in-county permission slip on file will attend.  The event is hosted by Smith County Schools, the Smith County Chamber and the Smith County Mayor's Office.

The Watertown and East Wilson Chamber of Commerce have joined the Watertown Police Department to present a Community Appreciation Day, on Saturday, October 13th beginning at 9am at the community park on Sparta Pike.  There will also be a car show courtesy of the Goodwill Cruisers Car Club.  There will be live music, door prizes and free food.
The Annual 4-H Poultry Show and Sale will take place on Tuesday, September 25th at 6pm at the Smith County Ag Center.  Judging begins at 6pm and the auction will follow.  All proceeds from the sale will go dire will go directly to the 4-H members to help with their expenses in raising the chicks.  For more information call 615-735-2900.
Mentors are needed in Smith County for the Tennessee Promise Program.  Tennessee Promise provides every high school senior the opportunity to attend a community or technical college tuition free.  Mentors work with small groups of students and help them transition to college life.  For moreinformation call 615-604-1306.
National Public Lands Day will be held Saturday, September 29th.  The event will take place at Edgar Evans State Park in Silver Point.  Varies activities for all outdoor lovers are planned throughout the day.  Events will begin at 9am and will run to 4pm.  The event is free to the public.
