The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency is currently seeking volunteers to deliver meals to Smith County Home Delivered Meal clients.  To get the full details about this service or to learn more about volunteering with UCHRA, please contact Beth Stephens at 931-264-6408.


UT Extension of Smith County will be offering a Master Small Ruminant Program on Friday and Saturday, March 22nd and 23rd at the Smith County Ag Center.  The program will run from 9am to 4pm both days.  The cost is $75 per individual, or $100 per couple.  For complete details about the program please call the Extension Office at 615-735-2900.
UT Extension of Smith County will be offering a Lambing and Kidding School on Saturday, March 23rd from 9am to 3pm.  The school will take place at the Smith County Ag Center.  The school will cover the keys to a successful lambing and kidding season.  The cost is $25 per person.  For complete details call the Extension Office at 615-735-2900.
UT Extension and the Smith County Health Department invite you to participate in Walk Across Tennessee, which will be held April 1st thru May 27th.  Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.  There's no cost to participate.  Register your 8-man team today.  Registration deadline is March 25th.  For complete details call 615-735-2900.

The Smith County School System is conducting a county-wide search for children with disabilities, ages birth through twenty-one, who are not currently in school or enrolled in a program for the disabled but are in need of special education services.  If you know of a child that may need special services, call the Smith County Board of Education Special Education Department at 615-735-2187. 
 A Smith County Volunteer Spring Clean Day will be held on Wednesday, March 27th.  Teams of volunteers will go into the community for litter pickup and landscaping.  Volunteers will meet at the Smith County Chamber at 9am for a short presentation before clean-up begins.  Lunch will be provided at 1pm.  For complete details call Barbara Kannapel at 615-489-5900.
A Smith County Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet event will take place on Wednesday, April 24th from 9am - noon at the Smith County Senior Center.  Please bring your unused and out-of-date medications to the event for drop off so they can be properly disposed.  Narcan training will be made available for anyone who desires.  For more information about the event please call 615-588-1622.
Registration is underway for Smith County T-Ball for boys and girls ages 4-5 and for Smith County Coach Pitch for boys and girls ages 6-7.  If your child was in T-Ball or Coach Pitch last year then there's no need to register again, however if your child is moving from T-Ball up to Coach Pitch then they need to register again.  For details call 615-735-1750.
