The 21st Annual Race for Jordan 5k Run, Walk and Fun Run will be held Saturday, May 4th at 9am at the Cordell Hull Dam. Registration will begin at 7:30am. Registration is $25 for a short sleeve shirt and $30 for a long sleeve shirt. Shirts will be reserved for those who register by April 20th. Smith County Humane will host their annual "Pancakes for Paws" benefit breakfast and auction at the Smith County National Guard Armory in Gordonsville on Saturday, April 20th. The breakfast begins at 7am and the auction begins at 10am. The cost is $7 per person and $4 for kids 4 and under

The Annual Tennessee Maneuvers Remembered Event will take place on the square in Carthage on Saturday, May 4th from 10am - 4pm. The event features re-enactors, military vehicles on display, 1940's style entertainment and vendors. The event is sponsored by the Smith County Historical Tourism Society.
