Tennessee's Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day will be held Saturday, June 6th. On this day anyone of any age, resident or non-resident can fish for free in public waters without a license. Youth ages 15 and under can also fish for free for the entire week following this event

THDA has awarded Smith County a grant to help low income families with home repairs. A public application workshop has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 20th at 1:30pm and Thursday, May 21st at 11am & 5:30pm at the Smith County Chamber. Applications can be acquired during the workshop, and must be turned in to Carthage City Hall by 4pm June 18th

The Cookeville Open Pickleball Tournament will take place Saturday, June 13th with gender doubles and Sunday, June 14th with mixed doubles. The tournament will take place at the Cane Creek Pickleball Courts, 180 CC Camp Road in Cookeville. Players of all levels are welcome. The City of Lebanon and the Nashville Superspeedway will host Speedway on the Square on Saturday, June 13th from 11am-2pm on the Square in Lebanon. There will be ticket giveaways, race cars on display, food trucks, and family-friendly activities, including inflatable bounce houses and face painting for the kids. The event is free to the public.
