The Upper Cumberland Human Resources Agency will hold a commodities distribution for Smith County on Tuesday, September 17th from 9am-11am at the Smith County Ag Center. You must have a UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities. Sign-ups will be held during this distribution.
The Town of Carthage is accepting applications for a full-time dispatcher for the Carthage Police Department. Applications can be picked up at Carthage City Hall at 314 Spring Street during regular business hours, Monday thru Friday from 8am-4pm. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation has announced that the Rome Bridge on Highway 70 in Smith County beginning Friday, September 20th at 6pm and will reopen Monday, September 23rd at 6am. This will be a full weekend closure in both directions for structural steel repairs. A detour will be in place to direct traffic to I-40.
The Smith County Government and the Smith County Misdemeanor Probation Office is looking to hire a full-time probation officer, who would work Monday thru Friday from 8am-4pm. Applications can be obtained at the Probation Office at 322 Justice Drive in Carthage. Applications must be submitted by September 20th.
